100 Days of Gratitude - Day 48 - Laughter

They say that laughter is the best medicine. If that's the case I should be the healthiest person alive!

My life is filled with laughter. My Kimmi is the funniest person I know, and I know a lot of funny people.

Sometimes my laughing gets so intense that I can't see. Literally - not figuratively, I can't see - the world goes gray (or grey - both are correct). I've met people who don't laugh. I generally don't care for them much.

My favorite thing about my friends is the laughs that we share together.

My favorite stories almost always include huge laughter.

These "100 Days of Gratitude" posts usually come down to people. It's the people who make me laugh.

My friend David Hira (Day 44 - right between GPS and Music) said "when it comes down to it there are only a few "things" that we're grateful for, but there are lots of "people" to be grateful for. And I couldn't agree more. Even the things that I'm grateful for usually involve people.

Here are my friends who currently make me laugh, or who I have laughed with a LOT in my lifetime:

  • Kim Hofstetter
  • Brian Brushwood
  • My Kids, Jonathan, Peter and Nicholas (they're all hilarious in their own ways)
  • Gus Davis
  • Jonny Zavant
  • Dan Martin
  • Nate Staniforth
  • David Hira
  • Justin Robert Young
  • Danny Garcia
  • Alex Rangel
  • David Rangel (his twitter feed @DeanRangel is one of the funniest around)
  • Angel Rangel (he'd call me out if I didn't include him)
  • Hood and Michael Aronin (especially when together).
  • The above group of people has caused me physical pain from laughing so hard.

Some comics that I've really liked over the years include:

  • Hood
  • Michael Aronin
  • Rich Shydner (spelling?)
  • Mitch Hedberg
  • George Carlin
  • Brad Williams
  • Michael Finney
  • The Amazing Jonathan
  • and dozens more - these are just the ones off of the top of my head that I left their shows as an instant fan. Only three are also friends/acquantances.

So today is all about laughter. Share a smile with someone at the very least. They say a smile is something you can give someone that costs you nothing and benefits everyone. Share it. If you can share a laugh today with those you love. It'll make they love you more.
