100 Days of Gratitude - Day 70 - Our home and property

Today I'm grateful for our home and property.

Without the property that we live on I'd have a much more difficult time organizing and storing my life and business. Most of my life takes place on this 5 acres.

My business is based here and the office is outside the house (see day 21) and my workshop is just another 50 feet away (see Day 20) and storage buildings are also nearby to hold my business overflow.

We've got plenty of parking for the 6 cars (one for each member of the family, plus a spare), the box van, the 4 trailers and the sailboat.

We've even got room for my in-laws (see day 31) to keep a 30' Travel Trailer here under a permanent shelter. That way they've got their own place to stay when they come to visit 3 months a year.

There's room for the dog (see day 4) to run and room for us to have other animals (currently only chickens, but we've had ducks, goats and rabbits in the past 15 years). There's room for us to shoot guns, play paintball, go for walks and work on projects galore.

Our neighbors are far enough away that when Nicholas' band wants to practice on the patio and crank up the music to "11" - they can do that.

When we have our Epic Karaoke parties we've got room for 60-70 people to show up, to park, and to not feel terribly crowded. There's also room, albeit couches, for 8-10 people other than our family to spend the night afterwards.

We don't have the biggest or the fanciest house in the world, but it's big enough for us, it's comfortable and our friends are always welcome to sit and talk, or to spend the night.

Our house is just perfect for our lives and our lifestyles. I have no desire to ever leave. There's no way I could live in a neighborhood again after living on our little slice of heaven in Liberty Hill/Leander.

If we could get good, high-speed internet here it'd be 100% perfect.
