100 Days of Gratitude - Day 85 - Templates

Whenever I'm stuck with a design idea for a brochure, flier, website etc. I search the internet for templates.

They seldom end up looking like what I start with, but it's a great place to start.

When you're stuck, of if you're just starting with any of your own design work - check out templates.

I fully intend to ammend this post with links to some of my favorites, but I'm running late with this post.

100 Days of Gratitude Day - 84 - Sweet Tea Wine

I love this wine.

100 Days of Gratitude - Day 83 - Home

I've said it before - being grateful for my house, property, office etc., but what I'm truly grateful for today is being home. And in just about an hour Kim and Nicholas will be here too - which will make it seem even more home like.

Tomorrow the dog gets back from boarding and within a matter of 24 hours it'll be back to normal. That's what home is all about.

The past 10 days has been a whirlwind of travel with trips to California, to Iowa, then back to California. During that time I did 5 shows, met up with friends from around the country, went to the Magic Castle, went shopping on Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles which almost made me miss my flight. Because of this hectic schedule I've been a bit lax on posting here, but I'm going to make this last 17 days really count and try hard not to miss a day.

100 Days of Gratitude - Day 82 - Milestone Event

I've been quiet and behind on this project for a week because I've been performing at Grad Night events in Texas and California, then a trip to Iowa to celebrate the 50th anniversary of my in-laws (their actual anniversary was February 12th, but they were in Texas - so this was to celebrate with their friends and family in Iowa).

I realize that we love a reason to have a party and milestone events - graduations, anniversaries, birthdays (especially round numbers) are all a great reason to get together with people we love and celebrate. Again - the things I'm grateful for come back to people - the milestone events are just a reason to share with people.

So, if this were a Budweiser commercial I'd say "Milestone events... I salute you". But since it's my 100 Days of Gratitude Blog, I'll just say, I'm grateful.

100 Days of Gratitude - Day 81 - Digital Cameras

Last night was my son Peter's graduation reception. We had a blast.

Playing as a slide show on the TV's in the house were pictures of him now and growing up.

Some of the younger pictures were a bit grainy as the pictures were low resolution when we got our first digital cameras - but those cameras changed everything in the picture taking department.

As I was going through the files of pictures I could always tell around the times that I'd gotten a new camera - there was always a surge of picture taking.

Most of all, with the digital cameras we don't have to worry about taking "too many" pictures as if we don't like it, or it doesn't turn out, we don't have to go through them and hand them back to the clerk at the fotomat (remember fotomats?). The cost is non existent - except for storage, which has gotten so cheap that I encourage all of you, especially new parents, to take as many pictures as you can.

Pictures bring back floods of memories and great feelings. I'm super glad that they're so cheap now.

Keep snapping those pics. I will.
